If you are like most Austinites, you drive ... alone ... in your car ... every day ... to and from work or school. Racking up less than 40 miles a day, or 8,000 miles per year, just commuting. That's about 4.2 tons of CO2 per year per person in Austin alone. As for most people, this represents the biggest part of our carbon footprint.

Up until now, there haven't been many well-accepted alternatives to the daily commute in our oil-burning cars. Only 13% of us carpool and only 5% use public transportation.

Many of us have at least two cars in our family, so make one of them an electric eKar.
